Liverpool vs PSG (CL)

I was really looking forward to this message and it certainly did not disappoint!

I was very shocked to see Sturridge in the starting eleven - he is the nowhere man despite having been in the team for so long, but he scored the opener, a well taken goal.

And so far this season, Salah has been disappointing, he just seems to have lost his touch.

A silly challenge in the 36th minute led to us getting a penalty and Milner put it away nicely, even though the keeper went the right way, he couldn't keep it out!

Then Meunier scored for PSG, a well taken goal.

Liverpool played brilliantly, both attacking and in defense. For the total value of the PSG team, they weren't exactly brilliant in my opinion. Their best players for me would be Cavani, Mbappe and Thiago Silva. Neymar is nothing but disappointing and one seriously overrated player! He was just as rubbish for Brazil during the World Cup in the summer!

In the second half, Mbappe scored a brilliant goal to level the playing field and with not long left in the match, it looked like we'd have to settle for the draw.

But in stoppage time, in swooped Firmino with a brilliant late goal to win us the game! And I think we really deserved that win as we were the better team for the majority of the game. And Firmino's celebration was just brilliant!

National Football Museum, Manchester

We went to Manchester for the day and we visited the National Football Museum. Being footy mad, there was no way I was going to miss out on visiting the National Football Museum! Best of all, entry was free!

We had a look at the trophies, shirts, memoribilia and read about the history of football.

Little man got an LFC badge made too which he loves!

We played on some old penny arcade machines (you could exchange modern day money for some old pennies to play with) and more modern table football.

One of the highlights for me was all the Liverpool stuff, as you all know by now, I'm a HUGE lifelong fan...

I even got a like on Instagram from the man himself Ian Rush!

KICKair Indoor Freestyle Park (REVIEW)

It was KICKair Manchester's 1st birthday on Thursday, 23rd August and we were lucky enough to be invited along to their birthday party.

After quickly signing the waiver (just because you have to aknowledge that you could get injured) we were given our special non-slip socks (socks normally cost £2 for a pair) to use on the trampolines etc. and some vouchers for a free drink or ice cream each as part of our invite.

We made use of the lockers to store our bags & shoes (it costs £1 which is refundable once you have removed your stuff). The key for your locker comes on a handy wristband leaving your hands and pockets free to enjoy the facilities.

Then we had to watch a short safety video before we were allowed to take part in the activities. Little man is 4 years old though and was a little bit traumatised by it lol. It wasn't in any way scary, it's just that he takes everything so literally, so he came to the conclusion that if he did anything, he would end up breaking his leg! The video was telling you what not to do so you can avoid injury.

Afterwards we were allowed to use the facilities. We started with the trampolines - both the boys enjoyed this, though little man would barely do any jumping, but he didn't tell us why until the next day when he told us trampolines were scary and he would break his leg! If he'd have told us at the time why he was reluctant, we could have explained to him that the video was just telling you not to be silly because you could get a bad injury. It's a shame he didn't tell us, because I feel he missed out on loads of fun - we really thought he'd love trampolining as he spends a lot of time each day jumping on his bed! It's the first thing he does when he wakes, he often wants to do it when he's upstairs having been to the toilet, or before he'll settle down for bed! I wish he wouldn't, but he loves it!

Anyway, he had a little go, but didn't make the most of it like we thought he would. Eldest loved it though.

Eldest and Paul then went to do the Jump Tower, and I took little man along to watch them. Paul enjoyed it, eldest was a little reluctant, but enjoyed it once he tried it!

After that, eldest and Paul went to have a go at the Wipe Out. Again, I took little man along to watch them. They both enjoyed this and it was funny as spectators watching them repeatedly fail as it sped up!

Then Paul and eldest went to try out the trampoline basketball, so me and little man went along with them to watch there too. Neither of them were very good at it, but had lots of fun.

Then Paul and eldest had a go at the freestyle and I watched with little man again. They were both pretty rubbish at this one!

Next, I had a go on the Battle Beam against eldest while Paul and little man watched. Eldest wasn't very good at it! Then Paul had a go against eldest while me and little man watched. I enjoyed this a lot!

Then Paul and eldest had a go at the Slackline and Rolling Log - they both were terrible at it, but had fun trying!

Then little man and eldest went back to the trampolines for another go.

Paul had a go on the climbing wall..

Then I played Kick Pool against eldest. We had fun, but didn't play a full game.

Then I had a go at Speed Goal with eldest. It was lots of fun, but it didn't half make my foot hurt, all the kicking with no shoes on!

Finally, I had a go at the WallJam with eldest which was fun, but again hard work on our feet!

While me and eldest were doing the football games, Paul took little man to the soft play area. Little man absolutely loved this and didn't ever want to leave! He had so much fun!

Then we used our vouchers - little man went for a tub of bubblegum flavour ice cream, but me, Paul and eldest got a Tango Ice Blast drink.

Little man then played for even longer on the soft play. He really enjoyed this best of all.

We then took little man to get his face painted - the face painter was there as part of their birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, we left it a bit late and she was almost going home so she only did a small Spiderman pattern, but he was happy anyway!

Then little man wanted to play on the soft play for even longer! We eventually had to tell him they were closing to convince him to leave!

Overall, we had an amazing time and at their prices, I think it would be very good value for money. We would definitely do it again!

I only wish there'd have been more for little man to do. I think he'd have loved taking part in the football zones and the basketball.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace (PL)

Second match of the season and another win for us, this time against Crystal Palace.

Not entirely convincing in the match, but we mostly had it under control. Keita performed really well as did Van Dijk. Salah seemed a bit off his game though.

It was the first proper opportunity to see how Alisson performed and he was strong and confident when challenged and made a couple of brilliant saves.

Brilliantly taken penalty by Milner at the stroke of half time, the keeper had no chance. And a brilliant last minute goal from Mane in the 92nd with the assist from Salah.

Again, disappointed not to see Shaqiri play as I think he could be a vital player in the team, but we'll see how it goes.

Keep it up! YNWA!

Red Bull Drift Shifters 2018

Yesterday, me and my eldest son were lucky enough to attend the Red Bull Drift Shifters 2018 here in Liverpool at the Pier Head (thanks to @PeelLivWaters on Twitter who I won tickets from).

Now, I've never been to see drift racing of any sort before, but I absolutely loved it and my son did too.

I'd read about it before we went and read about the drivers who were taking part and watched some of their previous races, as I thought it would be nice to know a bit of background.

We had a brief look around, before picking out of spot to watch from, and we saw this...

We got a great spot right near the track, so I got some amazing photo's to share with you all!

The track was brilliantly designed, starting at the Mersey Tunnel, under the Angle Grinder, along the Pier Head Wallride, through the Undertaker Truck, around the Yellow Submarine, then into the George's Dock Wallride and back again, with the drivers being able to choose whatever route they wanted in order to get the most points.

The drivers did a drive around before the competition begun...

There was a practice round, then the twelve drivers started in qualifying. We saw some brilliant scores over 4m in the qualifiers alone! Fredric Aasbø
topped the table after the qualifying round with a massive 5.08m. Here are some photo's from the qualifying round:

The qualifying round scores were:

Fredric Aasbø - 5.08m
Forrest Wang - 4.86m
Gaz Whiter - 4.49m
Abdo Feghali - 4.29m
Dean Kearney - 4.21m (LCQ)
James Deane - 4.05m
Mike Whiddett - 3.78m (LCQ)
Piotr Wiecek - 3.73m
Joachim Waagaard - 3.36m (LCQ)
Masato Kawabata - 3.35m
Fanga Dan Woolhouse - 3.29m (LCQ)
Matt Carter - 2.31m (LCQ)

The scores in practice and then qualifying were really high, and set high expectations for the scores in the quarter finals. And they did not disappoint! Some great scores in the quarter finals. Here are some photo's from it...

Everyone was surprised to see previous champ 'Mad' Mike Whiddett knocked out at the qualifying round, but the scores were very high and it was a tough competition from the onset. He was a real crowd pleaser though as while a lot of other missed out the submarine and phone box, he took all of them on and did amazingly too!

The scores from the quarter finals were:

Forrest Wang - 5.56m
Piotr Wiecek - 4.92m
Gaz Whiter - 4.82m
Fredric Aasbø - 4.57m
James Deane - 4.27m
Abdo Feghali - 4.15m
Masato Kawabata - 3.64m
Dean Kearney - 2.90m

Again, the scores in the quarter finals were really high and the competition was really on. From all we'd seen, there was going to be some major competition in the semi finals, and we were not disappointed, with 3 out of the final 4 scoring 5m+ each!

The scores from the semi finals were:

Gaz Whiter - 5.33m
Forrest Wang - 5.21m
Fredric Aasbø - 5.15m
Piotr Wiecek - 3.93m

We were really excited for the final between Gaz Whiter and Forrest Wang.

The final scores were:

Gaz Whiter - 6.29m
Forrest Wang - 4.75m

You can watch the video from Red Bull taken with a GoPro of Gaz Whiter's winning performance:

We had an amazing time, and it's safe to say we are now drifting fans! I hope I get another opportunity in the future to go and watch!
