KICKair Indoor Freestyle Park (REVIEW)

It was KICKair Manchester's 1st birthday on Thursday, 23rd August and we were lucky enough to be invited along to their birthday party.

After quickly signing the waiver (just because you have to aknowledge that you could get injured) we were given our special non-slip socks (socks normally cost £2 for a pair) to use on the trampolines etc. and some vouchers for a free drink or ice cream each as part of our invite.

We made use of the lockers to store our bags & shoes (it costs £1 which is refundable once you have removed your stuff). The key for your locker comes on a handy wristband leaving your hands and pockets free to enjoy the facilities.

Then we had to watch a short safety video before we were allowed to take part in the activities. Little man is 4 years old though and was a little bit traumatised by it lol. It wasn't in any way scary, it's just that he takes everything so literally, so he came to the conclusion that if he did anything, he would end up breaking his leg! The video was telling you what not to do so you can avoid injury.

Afterwards we were allowed to use the facilities. We started with the trampolines - both the boys enjoyed this, though little man would barely do any jumping, but he didn't tell us why until the next day when he told us trampolines were scary and he would break his leg! If he'd have told us at the time why he was reluctant, we could have explained to him that the video was just telling you not to be silly because you could get a bad injury. It's a shame he didn't tell us, because I feel he missed out on loads of fun - we really thought he'd love trampolining as he spends a lot of time each day jumping on his bed! It's the first thing he does when he wakes, he often wants to do it when he's upstairs having been to the toilet, or before he'll settle down for bed! I wish he wouldn't, but he loves it!

Anyway, he had a little go, but didn't make the most of it like we thought he would. Eldest loved it though.

Eldest and Paul then went to do the Jump Tower, and I took little man along to watch them. Paul enjoyed it, eldest was a little reluctant, but enjoyed it once he tried it!

After that, eldest and Paul went to have a go at the Wipe Out. Again, I took little man along to watch them. They both enjoyed this and it was funny as spectators watching them repeatedly fail as it sped up!

Then Paul and eldest went to try out the trampoline basketball, so me and little man went along with them to watch there too. Neither of them were very good at it, but had lots of fun.

Then Paul and eldest had a go at the freestyle and I watched with little man again. They were both pretty rubbish at this one!

Next, I had a go on the Battle Beam against eldest while Paul and little man watched. Eldest wasn't very good at it! Then Paul had a go against eldest while me and little man watched. I enjoyed this a lot!

Then Paul and eldest had a go at the Slackline and Rolling Log - they both were terrible at it, but had fun trying!

Then little man and eldest went back to the trampolines for another go.

Paul had a go on the climbing wall..

Then I played Kick Pool against eldest. We had fun, but didn't play a full game.

Then I had a go at Speed Goal with eldest. It was lots of fun, but it didn't half make my foot hurt, all the kicking with no shoes on!

Finally, I had a go at the WallJam with eldest which was fun, but again hard work on our feet!

While me and eldest were doing the football games, Paul took little man to the soft play area. Little man absolutely loved this and didn't ever want to leave! He had so much fun!

Then we used our vouchers - little man went for a tub of bubblegum flavour ice cream, but me, Paul and eldest got a Tango Ice Blast drink.

Little man then played for even longer on the soft play. He really enjoyed this best of all.

We then took little man to get his face painted - the face painter was there as part of their birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, we left it a bit late and she was almost going home so she only did a small Spiderman pattern, but he was happy anyway!

Then little man wanted to play on the soft play for even longer! We eventually had to tell him they were closing to convince him to leave!

Overall, we had an amazing time and at their prices, I think it would be very good value for money. We would definitely do it again!

I only wish there'd have been more for little man to do. I think he'd have loved taking part in the football zones and the basketball.
